Oops! One more!

I was going through my regular digital camera and realize that I have a cake on there that I haven't put on even my Facebook page yet!  I know I say this about every cake, but man I love this cake!!  It is a casino night themed cake for the mom of some of my repeat clients.  I would have to say that my chocolate cake with the peanut butter buttercream with the pb cups in it is by far my most popular cake and this is what this cake was!  So they were doing a casino night theme, but she also loves bubble baths so I made a little figurine sitting in a bubble bath of the birthday girl!!  They sent me a picture of her reaction when she opened her eyes and saw that cake and man was it priceless!! oh and a big shout out to my friend Amiee Erickson who painted the symbols and numbers on the playing cards for me!!

Pregnant bellies, Hello Kitty and wedding cakes?

I did forget a few other cakes that I haven't posted on here yet.  This first one was for a baby shower and was a cute pregnant belly cake with a zebra stripe pattern.  The next one is a Hello Kitty cake.  This was done for a little girl I did a Dora cake for last year!  Thanks for the repeat business guys!  The last one is a super important cake for me.  It was my little brothers wedding cake!!  I cannot believe that he finally did it!  he got married and I was the lucky one to be able to make his cake for him!  Enjoy!!

Sorry about the not so hot picture.  I totally forgot to take a good picture of it before they got to the house. This cake was a chocolate and white marble cake with raspberry filling.

This was a really special cake!  I have never done a cake like this one before.  It is a chocolate cake with a strawberry and banana filling!  I decided to go for a fresh filling instead of doing any sort of cream so it would taste as good as it can! They said that it turned out just amazing!!

This is my masterpiece!!  I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this cake........ok well not blood but a whole lot of sweat and tears!!  The bottom three cakes were strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream filling, the middle two cakes were white cake with vanilla buttercream filling and the top three cakes were chocolate with peppermint buttercream filling.  This was definitely a labor of love and I think it turned out super duper amazing!!

I am SOOOOO far behind......

I am sorry that I am so far behind on my posts!!  life just gets in the way and facebook kinda just takes over.  So I have a lot of cakes I need to update so bare with me, this might turn into a novel!!  HAHAHA

Ok so back in august I had the chance to do a cake for my nephew........who doesn't eat ANY sugar!!!  I was like what?  Then I remembered a fruit cake that I had pinned that I know he would eat!!  I was really fun to put together, HOWEVER the bees loved this cake so much it was kinda dangerous to even attempt getting a piece!!  Ha ha.

Then we have a cute beachy wedding cake, a cute cowboy themed birthday cake, Snips of Snails and puppy dog tails and sugar and spice and everything nice birthday cake for twins, another cute but small wedding cake that I based the design off of a Thrity One Gifts purse that I have, I just changed the lime green to the hot pink.  There is also a lego themed birthday cake for a cute 8 year old boy and his baptism cake, a cops and robbers cake for my friends, sons 6th birthday and a sponge bob cake and cupcakes for a little boy turning 2, an Australian flag mission farewell cake, a sculpted monarch butterfly cake, and a wreck it ralph cake.  Some of the most recent ones close to the bottom are a finding nemo cake, my very own daughters 5th birthday cake that was a cinderella themed dress cake, and the most recent was a 7 year old girls nutcracker birthday themed cake!  I LOVE DOING THIS!!  I absolutely love making cakes!  I love the look on peoples faces as I present the cake to them.  I love the feeling I get when I know I have done a good job!!  enjoy the pics I will include a description of what each cake is underneath the picture itself

Wedding cake for a super cute bride and a grooms cake for her honey!  The big cake is Oatmeal spice with cream cheese frosting filling.  The grooms cake is Chocolate with peanut butter buttercream.

This cake was done for a cute 3rd birthday.  It was chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream with pb cup pieces intermingled in there as well!  OH SO YUMMY!

This was a cake that was for a giveaway that I did in connection with Latter day chatter.  I had an ad on there for a little bit.  But this cake was a simple but delicious white cake with vanilla buttercream filling.  It was for twins and the theme was Sugar and spice and everything nice and Snips of snails and puppy dog tails.

This was a wedding cake that I did for a cute family who has used me quite a bit for cakes, which I sincerely appreciate.  I based the design off of Thirty One Gifts, Sea plaid design as well as their Teal dot design.  I changed the lime green in the sea plaid design to a hot pink cause that was one of their colors.  This cake as well was a delicious white cake with vanilla buttercream filling.

This cute lego cake has handmade fondant legos on it....ok well I had a mold but they are not real legos, despite what they might look like :)  This cake was strawberry cake with a strawberry filling.

This one was for the same kid as the lego cake was for.  It was his baptism cake!  This was chocolate cake, with peppermint buttercream filling.

Cute cops and robbers cake for a friends, son's 6th birthday party!  The bottom tier was yellow cake, chocolate fudge frosting filling.  The top tier "jail" was a chocolate with a peanut butter buttercream.  I made all the fondant decorations on it.

This cute sponge bob cake was for a cute 2 year old boy.  The big cake was a butter pecan cake with a caramel nutty filling.....YUMO!!! I was seriously so glad that there was scraps of this cake cause it was SO good!  The cupcakes were confetti and chocolate with chocolate mousse filling and a raspberry filling.

These two cakes were for different people.  the top cake was for a mission farewell of a kid whose parents live in the neighborhood I grew up in!  I remember this kid when he was a baby, so it was cool to see him leave for a mission.  although it makes me feel pretty old! lol  his cake was a combo, german chocolate layer and a red velvet layer with vanilla buttercream frosting.  The butterfly cake was for a high school friends little girl who turned 7 and just loves butterflies.  Her cake was a white cake with a scrumptious whipped cream filling.

This cute wreck it ralph cake was a trade I did with a friend.  She made me a dress for my brothers wedding and I made her son his birthday cake.  I think it turned out really cute.  It sad that I can't remember that far back but I am pretty sure it was a white cake, I know for sure that I put chocolate mousse filling in there cause it was acting up on me!

Super cute finding nemo cake for a super cute 1 year old!!  It was a white cake with a fresh strawberry filling!

This cake I am super fond and proud of!  This is my daughters 5th birthday cake!  She was cinderella for halloween and since her birthday is the day before Halloween we decided to carry the theme over to her birthday party.  This was such a fun cake to make and if I do say so myself I think it turned out amazing!   It was, of course my favorite, chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream with bits of pb cup in it!  yes i did ask what my daughter wanted and she did pick this out, but I was excited that she wanted it too!

This is my most recent cake.  Remember the cute tractor cake with all the farm animals on it?  well this cake was for his older sister who was having a nutcracker themed cake.  It was a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling.  I made the little figurines as well as the little tree on top out of fondant.

OK so that is it for right now!  I am getting ready to start a new adventure at a bakery that is opening up in North Ogden!  So look for more info to come on that!!!  Thank you for all the support and love you have all given me over the years!

Semi trucks, tigers and tractors......oh my!

Had three super fun cakes this past weekend!  The first one was cake in the shape of a semi truck! This ladies husband was coming home off the road and she wanted to celebrate his birthday before he left again and wanted to surprise him with a cake that looked like his truck!!  It was a huge hit and he loved it!  The cake was a chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling! (one of my favorites).  Consequently enough it was her birthday the night before I was going to deliver the cake and because of my august special (place and order for a cake in august and get free cupcakes)  She was able to have her own special birthday treat!  Her cupcakes were chocolate with a vanilla buttercream frosting and fondant flowers on top.  really cute!!

OK next!  my next cake that weekend was a tiger face cake for Jessica Jensen!  Her son's birthday was that weekend and I made them a tiger face cake, chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream filling, vanilla frosting.  The cupcakes were half chocolate, half white cake with vanilla buttercream in a tiger stripe pattern with a white paw on them.  Also because of my new sponsorship on her blog I made her a giant cupcake for her birthday which was also last weekend!  Everything turned out so cute!

Third cake this past weekend was probably one of my favorites so far!!  It was a tractor cake! The best part about it were the fondant animals that I made for the cake!!  Its seriously one of my favorite things to do!  They turned out so cute!   Now usually I deliver all my cakes just to make sure that they arrive in one piece, but this time the customer was traveling to the party which would have made an extra delivery fee for her, so I packaged the cake and the cupcakes so that they would travel safely.  It was a first for me and I was a nervous wreck until I heard if it made it ok!  The tractor cake was chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling and fondant decorations.  the cupcakes were white cake with vanilla buttercream grass with a few fondant animals!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

So my Daughter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so when I saw on facebook that someone was looking for someone to make their birthday boy a mickey mouse clubhouse cake, I jumped at the chance to make it!  It was so cute!!  I love all the bright colors.  The two tier is a yellow cake with Chocolate Buttercream filling, the smash cake was chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling.  According to the mom, everyone loved it!  In fact her exact words were "Oh you did an AMAZING JOB!! Everyone loved it and tasted so good!! For sure be back for cakes with you!! Thanks again. Your amazing at what you do.."  Gotta love to hear that as a cake decorator!!

Way too many cakes for a simple fun title!

I have had quite a few fun cakes since I last posted!!  I had three all in a row for the same family!  First one was a pirate themed cake,  it was chocolate cake with chocolate filling!  super cute!!! This cake was for her husband who just died over this cake!
The next one was this cute panda cake!  It was white cake with vanilla buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting!  It was for an 11 year old girl who absolutely loved it!
This next one is fun!  It is a minecraft creeper cake! it was a white cake with a chocolate filling.  He turned 9 years old and said that I was the best cake maker in the world!!  Love hearing that!! Needless to say they were all very pleased with their cakes
This next one I did for my hubbys birthday!  He absolutely LOVES German Shepherd dogs and had to give his baby up a few years back!  so I wanted to make this one special for him and put a pic of his dog on the top.  Its edible paper, so everything on the cake was edible.  The cake itself is Chocolate with peanut butter buttercream!
I absolutely adore this next cake with the cowboy theme!  The hat is made out of rice crispie treats and the cake itself is Chocolate with peanut butter buttercream!  such an incredible combination of cake!  Its one of my favorites and a really popular flavor!
I have three cakes so far for august and cannot wait to get started on them and share them all with you!!  I love making cakes so much!  I love even more helping make special days sweeter!!

Baptisms, Birthdays, Cake Emergencies and Flashes of Life!!

Weird title right? Well this past weekend I had 1 baptism cake and 2 birthday cakes!  Totally rocked the whole three cakes in one day thing!  So bring on the orders if you want a cake!

This first cake was for a little 2 year olds birthday!  His mom wanted mickey mouse and really liked the shape and colors of this cake. It's white cake with a chocolate buttercream. The bottom tier was red chocolate buttercream and the top was covered in fondant.  I loved the polka dots and the number on this cake!  So much fun!

This is the other birthday cake for a friends dad.  He obviously has varied likes and so I tried to put what I could on top.  All of the tools and sports stuff is made out of fondant and hand painted by me.  The cake was chocolate with a chocolate cream filling.  It also had chocolate fondant covering the outside!! so yummy and smelled delicious!

This last cake was a really fun one!  It was for a baptism.  It was a white cake with a lemon curd filling on one side, and a strawberry curd on the other.  The frosting is a vanilla buttercream with cute pink scroll work and daisies!

Polka Dots and Cut Fingers?????

I totally cut my pointer finger to day while I was leveling a cake I was using for a birthday cake I was making. Now i know what you are thinking.......did any get on the cake!?..........no.  I really sucked though!  It was hard decorating the cake with a bandaid on!  But the cake turned out really cute!  It was a strawberry cake from scratch with a from scratch strawberry filling!  I didn't taste it all together but separately the cake and filling tasted amazing!  I hope the family thought so too! The smaller cake was a smash cake for the little 1 year old to dive into!

Barney Wedding

I had the opportunity to make a wedding cake for a family friend this past week.  From the moment I saw the pic of what she wanted I thought "I have to do this wedding cake"  Thankfully they wanted me to do it as well.  It was so incredibly stunning!  I made her a lemon cake with lemon buttercream.  The decoration was what I could only describe as fondant petals coming off the cake!  We used yellow stargazer lilies and blue orchids on the cake.  Here are the pics of the completed masterpiece!  I got such a great compliment from the photographer (who I hope will send me some of the pics he took of the cake), he said "being in this business, I have seen literally hundreds if not thousands of cakes and this one is one of the most unique and beautiful I have seen!"  Made me feel pretty darn good! Enjoy!

Rain drops on roses and snowflakes on.......cupcakes?

I thought I remembered the words to that song "My favorite things" but apparently I don't! ;)  Oh well, the snowflakes part goes with my most recent creations.  300 absolutely beautiful....and scrumptuous tasting I might add.......cupcakes for my friends wedding reception.  I made three different kinds, 100 of each.  Chocolate with a peppermint cream filling and buttercream frosting done in lemon grass green with two small snowflakes and tiny edible pearls on it.  A white cake with a custard cream filling, eggplant colored buttercream frosting with one big fondant snowflake and tiny edible pearls, and finally a red velvet cake, with cream cheese filling, a cream cheese/buttercream frosting decorated with sparkly crystals and tiny pearls.!  I think they all turned out amazing!  Enjoy!
