Semi trucks, tigers and tractors......oh my!

Had three super fun cakes this past weekend!  The first one was cake in the shape of a semi truck! This ladies husband was coming home off the road and she wanted to celebrate his birthday before he left again and wanted to surprise him with a cake that looked like his truck!!  It was a huge hit and he loved it!  The cake was a chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling! (one of my favorites).  Consequently enough it was her birthday the night before I was going to deliver the cake and because of my august special (place and order for a cake in august and get free cupcakes)  She was able to have her own special birthday treat!  Her cupcakes were chocolate with a vanilla buttercream frosting and fondant flowers on top.  really cute!!

OK next!  my next cake that weekend was a tiger face cake for Jessica Jensen!  Her son's birthday was that weekend and I made them a tiger face cake, chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream filling, vanilla frosting.  The cupcakes were half chocolate, half white cake with vanilla buttercream in a tiger stripe pattern with a white paw on them.  Also because of my new sponsorship on her blog I made her a giant cupcake for her birthday which was also last weekend!  Everything turned out so cute!

Third cake this past weekend was probably one of my favorites so far!!  It was a tractor cake! The best part about it were the fondant animals that I made for the cake!!  Its seriously one of my favorite things to do!  They turned out so cute!   Now usually I deliver all my cakes just to make sure that they arrive in one piece, but this time the customer was traveling to the party which would have made an extra delivery fee for her, so I packaged the cake and the cupcakes so that they would travel safely.  It was a first for me and I was a nervous wreck until I heard if it made it ok!  The tractor cake was chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling and fondant decorations.  the cupcakes were white cake with vanilla buttercream grass with a few fondant animals!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

So my Daughter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so when I saw on facebook that someone was looking for someone to make their birthday boy a mickey mouse clubhouse cake, I jumped at the chance to make it!  It was so cute!!  I love all the bright colors.  The two tier is a yellow cake with Chocolate Buttercream filling, the smash cake was chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling.  According to the mom, everyone loved it!  In fact her exact words were "Oh you did an AMAZING JOB!! Everyone loved it and tasted so good!! For sure be back for cakes with you!! Thanks again. Your amazing at what you do.."  Gotta love to hear that as a cake decorator!!

Way too many cakes for a simple fun title!

I have had quite a few fun cakes since I last posted!!  I had three all in a row for the same family!  First one was a pirate themed cake,  it was chocolate cake with chocolate filling!  super cute!!! This cake was for her husband who just died over this cake!
The next one was this cute panda cake!  It was white cake with vanilla buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting!  It was for an 11 year old girl who absolutely loved it!
This next one is fun!  It is a minecraft creeper cake! it was a white cake with a chocolate filling.  He turned 9 years old and said that I was the best cake maker in the world!!  Love hearing that!! Needless to say they were all very pleased with their cakes
This next one I did for my hubbys birthday!  He absolutely LOVES German Shepherd dogs and had to give his baby up a few years back!  so I wanted to make this one special for him and put a pic of his dog on the top.  Its edible paper, so everything on the cake was edible.  The cake itself is Chocolate with peanut butter buttercream!
I absolutely adore this next cake with the cowboy theme!  The hat is made out of rice crispie treats and the cake itself is Chocolate with peanut butter buttercream!  such an incredible combination of cake!  Its one of my favorites and a really popular flavor!
I have three cakes so far for august and cannot wait to get started on them and share them all with you!!  I love making cakes so much!  I love even more helping make special days sweeter!!

Baptisms, Birthdays, Cake Emergencies and Flashes of Life!!

Weird title right? Well this past weekend I had 1 baptism cake and 2 birthday cakes!  Totally rocked the whole three cakes in one day thing!  So bring on the orders if you want a cake!

This first cake was for a little 2 year olds birthday!  His mom wanted mickey mouse and really liked the shape and colors of this cake. It's white cake with a chocolate buttercream. The bottom tier was red chocolate buttercream and the top was covered in fondant.  I loved the polka dots and the number on this cake!  So much fun!

This is the other birthday cake for a friends dad.  He obviously has varied likes and so I tried to put what I could on top.  All of the tools and sports stuff is made out of fondant and hand painted by me.  The cake was chocolate with a chocolate cream filling.  It also had chocolate fondant covering the outside!! so yummy and smelled delicious!

This last cake was a really fun one!  It was for a baptism.  It was a white cake with a lemon curd filling on one side, and a strawberry curd on the other.  The frosting is a vanilla buttercream with cute pink scroll work and daisies!
